  1. Dear Vanessa,

Thank you very much for your tips about the life in China and compliment for your life story, it sounds great! Life is unpredictable.
I contact you because I saw in a website that you wrote a post regarding the best ways to go from Shenzhen Bay border to Hong Kong. Therefore May I ask you some enquiries about it?

    – Do I need to buy the bus tickets for the HK buses before the immigration in Shenzhen? Is there any tickets counter at the border?
    – Since I should travel every day from Shekou to HK Central, which is the best way you can suggest in terms of public transport from the border to HK Central and vice versa?
    – How long does it take you approximately from Shekou to HK Central?
    – How much do tou think could the whole trip cost?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Best Regards.

    1. Hi Edoardo and apologies for the delay in responding. We’ve been traveling – onwards from Shenzhen to Australia! In answer to your first question, you can buy the bus tickets on the HK side once you pass through immigration. I would suggest a commute using the bus and subway. However, I’ve never had to commute during rush hour. I hear that this is a very very busy time of the day and similarly I can’t really advise on how long it will take you. I would think at least an hour, possibly much more. I know busy times at immigration can take an hour just to pass through customs. As a guide, at a non-busy time it took us 2 hours to get from Shekou to the airport. The same time as a ferry crossing but of course much cheaper! There are links in the post to the various bus companies and train links – you should be able to access all the prices here. I suspect due to the delay you may already have this information. Enjoy your time in Shenzhen!
